In Ireland, Minister Martin Heydon TD of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), announced that payments for the seven projects that had successfully secured grants under the 2024 Biomethane Capital Grant Scheme (BCGS) would commence within a week.
We reported on the BCGS when it was first announced in 2024; the grants cover 20 % of capital investment costs, with a maximum of EUR 5 million payable to any single project. The seven projects are expected to deliver approximately 10 % of the 5.7 TWh/year 2030 national production target, or 570 GWh/yr.
