A green light for Dutch green gas?

The Netherlands is moving closer to introducing its biomethane blending obligation from 2027, creating a new source of demand for renewable gas and associated certification.

The scheme’s treatment of imports, guarantees of origin, Proofs of Sustainability, and interaction with ETS2 will be central to how supply develops and which biomethane volumes can compete for compliance demand.
