Two French texts published in the same week of October continue the shift from state-funded biomethane support to demand-side incentives. The 4 October order amends the share of guarantee of origin (GO) revenue the State claws back from legacy tariff contracts, and Decree 2026-933 extends the CPB obligation, funded by gas suppliers, beyond 2028.
The analysis sets out how the clawback and its indexed floor affect GOs from supported production, including transport biomethane, how the decree’s trajectory and expanded eligibility shape CPB demand, and what opening eligibility to imports would mean for CPB prices and French producers.
