First CPB results in from EEX – 80% of penalty level

In December last year, the CPB registry EEX published the first set of data for the grid blending obligation tool.

From September to November 2025 inclusive, 101 161 CPBs were issued, representing 107 GWh of biomethane production an average award rate of 0.95 CPBs per MWh, suggesting most of the volumes originate from newer plants (1.0 award rate) rather than older facilities (0.8 award rate).
