EU-UK summit tentatively set for 13 July

The UK and EU are targeting a bilateral ‘reset’ summit tentatively scheduled for 13 July 2026, during which a formal agreement to link their respective Emissions Trading Schemes (ETS) is expected to be announced. Reporting indicates that the scope of the summit will be limited to phytosanitary, emissions trading, and youth mobility topics, limiting the risk of derailment. UK Allowance (UKA) prices have responded to improving sentiment around linkage, with Dec-26 contracts up GBP 6.39/t or 12% since Friday.
