ECR group sets up plenary debate to attack ETS

This afternoon, the European Parliament plenary will discuss if Europe’s emission trading system hampers the continent’s competitiveness and if so, if it should be scrapped. The item, not included in the draft agenda last week, has been added at the request of the ECR group, which argues that the ETS is a key factor in destroying the competitiveness of European industrials. They, and other far-right groups in the Parliament, also claim it aggravates the ongoing energy crisis.
