SBTi v2.0: What it does – and doesn’t – mean for the crediting market

In June, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) published Version 2.0 of its Corporate Net-Zero Standard, clarifying the role of carbon credits in corporate decarbonisation. The standard maintains that companies cannot use carbon credits to meet their science-based emissions targets but introduces a voluntary route to purchase them for separate recognition.
