Guarantees of Origin are the prescribed instrument for energy disclosure in the RED II. While well established for power disclosures via the use of electricity GOs (here designated eGOs), the system has yet to reach a tipping point as far as gas GOs (gGOs) are concerned.
As part of the RED II implementation, member states are working towards establishing Guarantees of Origin systems for gas as directed by Articles 19 and 30.
