Ukraine has come a step closer to establishing its guarantees of origin (GO) market after energy regulator and registry operator NEURC has signed an agreement with Grexel and USAID Energy Security Project to implement an appropriate IT solution for the Ukrainian electronic GO register.
The agreement guarantees full compliance of the software with the rules of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) and the CEN 16325 standard required by the RED II Directive. In Ukraine, the standard entered into force on January 1, 2024.
The announcement came after the Ukrainian government recently adopted secondary legislation regarding renewables GOs issuance and cancellation.
