In a public consultation for Batteries Regulation, Commission makes a U-turn on carbon methodology

The battery regulation entered into force in 2023, with most provisions applying from February 2024. The rest will be phased in over the coming years, including through further implementing legislation. The Commission now follows up with a delegated regulation specifying more detailed rules regarding methodology for the calculation and verification of the carbon footprint of electric vehicle batteries.
