Germany could miss 2030 offshore wind target

Germany’s target to reach 30 GW installed offshore wind capacity by 2030 hangs in the balance due to potential grid connection delays and limited port infrastructure.

While the country attracted several zero-cent bids in its 2023 offshore wind auctions, future projects could be facing implementation delays. This could also delay the issuance of tradable guarantees of origin (GOs) related to some of these projects.
