On 13 June 2023, the Spanish gas GO register operator, and authorised issuing body, Enegas announced the first gas GOs for biomethane in the country. The announcement mentioned 8 600 MWh of gas GOs from two plants, Valdemingomez and Gestcompost, the latter being an auto-producer (for self-consumption) of biogas.
