Pure DC and the biomethane use case for data centres

Ireland-based data-centre managers, Pure DC, announced on 11 March 2026 that they had completed a proof of concept (PoC) in decarbonising their natural gas consumption for 2025.

They had achieved this via sourcing “independently certified” biomethane GOs, from both EU countries and the UK. GOs were purchased and retired, matching their total gas consumption for the previous year. The GOs:
