Policy-driven demand growth limits Spanish GO exports

On 18 March 2026, Spain’s CNMC published the final numbers for RES-E GO cancellations in Spain, which reached 96.6 TWh, 9.3 % higher than the 88.4 TWh in the 2024 disclosure period. Including the segment of GOs that are expected to be automatically cancelled in the accounts of suppliers for the benefit of their supplied electricity, GO demand is estimated to reach 123.4 TWh, representing a growth of 20.0 % on a year-on-year basis.
