On 24 March 2026, the Irish Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) published the supervisory framework for Guarantees of Origin for renewable gas. This follows from a six-week public consultation in April 2025 and is a key step towards establishing an operating biomethane register in the country, and eventually international trades.
