2024 Verified emissions estimate – EU ETS emission down 5 %

On 1 April the European Commission is expected to release the data on 2024 verified emissions from installations and operators obliged to participate in the EU ETS.

We estimate 2024 emissions from stationary installations (excluding aviation sector) at 1043.8 Mt, down 53.0 Mt or 4.8 % from 2023 levels. Including aviation and maritime sectors, we estimate the total EU ETS 2024 emissions at 1138.4 Mt.
