Sweden to take over the Presidency of the European Council

From 1 January to 30 June 2023, Sweden will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, following the half-year Czech Presidency, and will lead the work in the Council during the following six months. It means that the Swedes will play a central role in setting and progressing the European bloc’s agenda. This week, the upcoming Swedish Presidency unveiled its working programme, part of which focusses on accelerating the climate transition.
