A total of seven Guarantees of Origin (GOs) registries are fully operational within the Energy Community (EnC) contracting parties, while the last three registries are in the final stages of setting up.
During 2024, the registries in Republika Srpska, Georgia and Serbia have issued a total of 7.5 TWh worth of GOs and cancelled 3.2 TWh, according to publicly available Grexel data.
Separately, Ukraine started regular GO auctions and over 100 GWh were sold in the first four sessions that took place between 21 October –12 November 2024, according to data by JSC “Market Operator”. Thus, a regional GO market has started to shape up.
