The I-REC Standard Board decided in May 2021 to initiate a phase-out of FiT-subsidized generation facilities from the I-REC registry, while at the same time opening the system for non-state-owned enterprises (non-SOE). The reform is completed upon entry into 2023, as FiT-subsidized generation facilities won´t be able to receive I-RECs for their power production.
