HUPX (Hungarian Power Exchange Ltd), the appointed operator for the Hungarian GOs market by MEKH (Hungarian Energy & Utilities Regulatory Agency), held the pan-European auction for Guarantees of Origin (GOs) on 18 April 2023. The volumes on offer were produced between the months of April 2022 and January 2023. Per the domain protocol of the Hungarian Issuing Body, MEKH, the issuance of GOs is facilitated 75 days upon request of issuance by the account holder. Thus the newest volumes that are traded represent production three months prior.
It is important to note that the National GOs, which were issued in Hungary for producers that receive financial assistance and were not tradable internationally, have been now phased out of the market.
This month, 7.5 GWh (5.8% of the total traded volume) of Italian Solar GOs were traded, in contrast to the March session which was comprised wholly of domestic volumes.
