The Commission unveiled the long-awaited Industrial Accelerator Act on 4 March 2026, which was initially announced as part of the Clean Industrial Deal last year. It sets out a mandatory share of low-carbon products in public procurement contracts and support schemes for energy-intensive industries and/or EU origin requirements for steel, concrete, aluminium, cars and net-zero technologies (see table below).
