German elections: little effect on energy policy?

Europe’s biggest economy will hold snap elections next month and energy prices will likely be an important campaign topic due to their effect on households’ and industries’ everyday expenses. Given the latest polls, a CDU-SPD coalition seems the most likely outcome. The two parties are relatively aligned on energy and climate. They should be able to reach an agreement centred on the continued deployment of renewable energy and lowering energy taxes and fees.
