In February 2022, France was the main country of origin for imported GOs followed by Italy and Spain. Wind GOs dominated as the most imported type of foreign Guarantee of Origin at a 81% share of the total with the most originating from France (1 TWh). Hydro GOs followed with a 12% share of the total mostly originating from Norway.
Domestic renewable energy GOs continue to make up the largest share of cancelled GOs in the Netherlands (2.5 TWh) with local demand decreasing by 29% in contrast to the previous month. It is followed by French renewable GOs with 1.1 TWh cancelled. The high net imports combined with the decrease in the cancellation of domestic GOs suggests that a demand for EU GOs has grown in February.
