The rollback of stringent green hydrogen production rules?

On 16 September 2024, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck sent out a letter to the European Commission asking to relax rules for renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) production. Postponement of the additionality and hourly requirements was suggested, which although unlikely, if implemented could have a bullish impact on the market as hydrogen producers could be competing with other GO offtakers for the same renewable supply.
