Europe holds significant yet unexplored potential for expanding electrolyser capacity to boost renewable hydrogen production. Recognising this, the Member States have incorporated hydrogen strategies into their updated National Energy and Climate Plans (NECP). In this article, we specifically focus on distilling the Commission’s review of hydrogen policy from the Member States, while also highlighting the overarching challenges faced at an EU-wide level in their hydrogen policies.
