Bulgaria has come a step closer to becoming a full member of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) after the government voted important changes to the country’s Renewable Energy Act on 29 September.
This is a positive step for the local Guarantees of Origin (GO) market which so far has been restricted to transactions done bilaterally over the phone or via auctions organised by state-owned hydropower producer NEK.
