Households spearhead German solar boom

German solar capacity expansion is expected to accelerate in 2023 reaching between 9 GW and 11 GW of new installations amid a growing household market segment, falling technology costsand new government initiatives.

This year will be an important test for the sector which targets annual additions of 22 GW (11 GW roof-mounted and 11 GW ground-mounted) from 2026 onwards to achieve 215 GW total installed solar capacity in 2030.
