The Delegated Act identifies multiple hydrogen production pathways, promotes new RES-E installations, and supports PPAs. Depending on the production method, these will have either an insignificant effect on the GO market or could, at the same time, lead to increased issuance of green power GOs towards early 2030s, bringing the prices down.
Precise requirements should unlock the development of hydrogen projects, encouraging higher penetration of renewables. The effect will be more perceptible from 2028 onwards, as hydrogen production is expected to ramp up by then with the mass roll-out of large-scale electrolysers.
