China’s draft allocation plan for national ETS makes for a tighter, more liquid market

­On 2 July, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) released a draft 2023-2024 allocation plan for the power sector. With its more stringent benchmarks and banking rules, as well as more frequent compliance, we expect this plan to increase liquidity in the Chinese national ETS.
