On 6 January 2023, Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) announced their intention to invest EUR 1 bln in the European biomethane sector, establishing Verdalia Bioenergy which will be focussed upon biomethane plants in Spain in the short-term, but with a longer-term view to continental means of production.
