Shipping’s first year in the EU ETS: Calm Seas so far

Emissions for the maritime sector in the EU are expected to be 84.7 million tonnes of CO2 in 2024, and 82.4 million tonnes of CO2 in 2025. Veyt thus estimates that shipping companies will have to surrender 33.9 million EUAs for 2024 emissions, and 57.7 million EUAs for 2025 emissions.
