On 12 February 2026 the French government published a decree entering the latest multiyear energy plan (programmation pluriannuelle de l’énergie) into force. This third edition of the plan (PPE3) defines the actions that will be taken over the period 2026-2035 in the domestic energy sector. PPE3 includes specific references to biomethane, although many policy details are still to come, with a major review expected towards the end of 2027.
